How To Clean Caesarstone Countertops

How To Clean Caesarstone Countertops

If you already have quartz countertops or are seriously thinking about installing them in your home, you likely know that their beauty and longevity can be advanced with a fairly easy maintenance routine. Protecting and caring for your quartz countertops contributes to the cleanliness of your kitchen area, enhances your home’s overall appearance and increases the value of your home.

Caesarstone is a top leader in quartz countertop manufacturing and fully understands that the beauty and integrity of their quartz countertops depends on providing homeowners with the best possible information to maintain, protect and preserve their products. They give consumers the cut and dried guidelines to make quartz countertop cleaning an easy process. Download Caesarstone’s Countertop Guide

A simplified listing of their tips to maintain Ceasarstone countertops includes:

No Scrubbing

With Caesarstone’s hard and durable surface, which is both nonporous and stain resistant, hard scrubbing is unnecessary. Daily cleaning is basic and consists of either wiping with a damp cloth, a sponge and soapy water, or spraying with a recommended cleaner and finally drying with a paper towel or soft cloth. Wiping in a wide circular motion is recommended to maintain the sheen or shine of a quartz countertop.

Cleaners

Use non-abrasive household cleaners like Soft Scrub in the liquid gel form, cream based cleansers or even gentle bleach designed for household use. Also, a natural and Eco-friendly cleanser can be made with half white vinegar and half water. Any of these cleaners can be applied with a damp cloth or sponge and wiped dry with a paper towel or cloth.

Staining

Staining is a minor to non-issue with Caesarstone. From oils to spices, to red wine, makeup, markers and metal scratches, Caesarstone quartz can handle them all. If and when staining does occur, simply use a cleanser that contains oxalic acid and wipe clean with a soft sponge, rinse and wipe dry. If the stains are more intense, use alcohol and a soft cloth. A small amount of household bleach can also be used to remove stains on lighter (in color) quartz surfaces.

Other Stain Tips

  • When oily substances are involved, use a degreaser.
  • With foods or products that are dry or sticky, use a flat bladed plastic knife to remove any residue and wipe the area clean.
  • Nail enamel can be removed with an acetone based polish remover and cleaned and dried.
  • Any type of wax, glue, adhesives, water stains, and juice from meats or poultry can be removed with a degreasing agent. A degreaser should remain on the surface of the countertop to allow the stains to be removed. Follow with a damp cloth and finally wipe dry with a cloth or paper towel.

What to Avoid

Even with Caesarstone’s almost impenetrable quartz surfaces, they can face damage through harsh cleansers and abrasive sponges. In order to avoid serious damage, the following should not be used on or near Caesartstone quartz surfaces:

  • Caustic chemicals and cleaners, such as oven and toilet bowl cleaners as well as dishwasher polishing products and paint strippers and removers that contain Trichlorethane or Methylene chlorides should not be utilized.
  • Extensive heat above 300 degrees could result in surface damage, so avoid placing hot pots, pans and cooking sheets on the surface of Caesarstone quartz. Always have a pot holder, hot pad, trivet or other heat absorbing item handy when placing any hot utensils or cookware on a countertop. In spite of Caesarstone’s resistance to heat, a countertop surface can be damaged through temperature extremes.
  • Sharp objects can be damaging to Caesarstone, so it is advisable to use a cutting board to avoid damage from knives and other sharp-edged utensils.

Cleaning Caesarstone countertops is an easy care process, but if you have any questions related to their care, or any general questions concerning quartz countertops, complete the online contact form and a knowledgeable representative will get back to you with the answers you need.
